But to those who are asking for the songs in the single, I got it from a source (who wants to remain anon) and I'm sharing it with everyone! No need to credit me since I'm not the original owner. Enjoy the songs~ *and if you've got spare time please read my Yonjuushi PV review, back to back with this post! ;)*

The music video for 四銃士 (Yonjuushi ) is a delectable treat and yet a disappointment.
In fact, you'll find a whole bunch of reasons why this PV is one of NEWS' best, but there's also something that kills it. 'Yonjuushi' means 'Four Musketeers'--you'll immediately think of the 1970s movie--an old story, its background even much older.
But the PV is quite modern; not futuristic, as I heard some fans say. It's something that, initially basing on the CM promotions, will get you really excited for we see that it's completely different from the other 2015 PVs (KAGUYA and Chumuchumu) which were very traditional. Yonjuushi is a fresh catch from NEWS' past concepts: soccer themes and retro references. And this modern look doesn't fail us, from the PV's setting to the plot, from the choreo to the props. It complements the song's Classic flair, as Yonjuushi's melody is derived from a Classical piece! (to be discussed on the music review IF i get to finish it)
Having a very interesting and enigmatic twist, I admit my expectations for the video shoot up to 200% prior to its release. I watched the teasers/promotions everyday, overly appreciating how this is a bomb and I'll definitely be head over heels when the full PV comes out. I revered too early.
In all fairness, Yonjuushi is aesthetically pleasing. The modernity highlights the boys' handsome faces--while they are truly handsome on a regular basis, Yonjuushi gives them a demigod edge.
The past PVs have a certain vibe of 'Reaching out'. Interacting with kids/people in the soccer songs, impressing the audience in Chankapaana, and seducing the princess and lovers in KAGUYA and Chumuchumu, the latest PV offers less togetherness. Ironically, the song says "One for all, all for one". Arrogant? No it's amazing. How the members' individuality shines here is pure gold. Take these scenes for example:
Tegoshi and being a... well, the star.
Massu and tastes. See the perfumes and clothes.
This is why Koyama's perfect body comes to life.
Remember Shige reading in WORLD QUEST PV? As expected from NEWS' resident smartass.

The PV does have a very nice execution. Unlike in Mr. White short film where the storyline was good but the execution was a meh, in here the visual appeal and sophistication is among the commendable in Johnny's. I can't say that NEWS attacked full force in Yonjuushi, although it's important to note that this is their first DVD single, meaning another milestone for the group. All in all, I still prefer NEWS' latest PV than the one before, and if not only for the puzzling plot (which is a major for me) I would give it a perfect score.

The TE----goshi. ↓
IT'S HIS BIRTHDAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Wait, what should I say to get past this late-post-even-if-you-have-the-whole-
*oh shaddap it's already Nov 12 no excuses you're late*
Let's see; I did a Tumblr post yesterday. Unlike most of my well-thought (or so I thought) birthday tributes, this one was probably my most candid Tego message... and so far the longest of my stupid ones too. I don't really show sweetness to my bias, BELIEVE ME. EITHER I'M A TSUNDERE, OR A CRITIC. I MAKE TEGOSHI APPRECIATION POSTS, YES; BUT THAT'S MOSTLY A PART OF MARKETING MY BIAS TO EVERYONE AND NOT OUT OF MY DELICATE HEART AND MUSHY FEELINGS EWWWWW
Here it is! (source)
(A very poor edit since my fingers were trembling from the latte I just drank. caffeine intolerance?
Happy 28th birthday Tegoshi Yuya! TL;DR this is more of a ramble than a greeting :p
I spent the midnight tearing up a little because my plans for your birthday was thwarted by RL chores and whatnot. During the ‘planning’ stage, I had at least three ideas; a theme for a write-up, a collection of quotes, and a photobook style post (because you said many times that you want a solo photobook). I asked friends if they’ll be available on the date; made a budget for buying cake. Thought of dyeing my hair pink for the occasion. Nah, It’s a normal fan behavior I guess, but to me it’s been my yearly tradition to make tribute/s for Tegoshi’s birthday AND IT NEVER FALTERED!!! So when I was obliged to RL I was swept away. Still feeling glum until now (palpitation I hate you), I made this halfhearted edit, but I want to make up for this with a message. Or a ramble. A childish love letter and all.
The time I became a fangirl I started consistently writing journals. From my scream when I first saw his face on the screen, to my anguish when NEWS lost RyoPi, to my redemption when the group came back as four, much of my feels were recorded. It was--in a very cliche tone “an emotional roller coaster” and a test of strength and faith, and a notebook of commentary, jokes, creativity, and wide-eyed appreciation for the fandom. The most prominent parts, of course, are the Tegoshi-biased moments. Beyond what’s written there are tooooooons of them. Tegoshittin’ like 100x a day. It’s a funny thing (whenever I become nostalgic I laugh more than cry for all the silliness), being a dedicated fangirl. How the feelings got bigger
like a couple overcoming the seven-year itch LOOOOL, is even funnier. “How are you taking that guy seriously?” I wrote why it’s hard to be a Tegoshi fan last year. (and have started writing part two!). The point is, Tegoshi is indeed an idol. I realize that every day. It’s becoming obvious everyday. He’s becoming just a common celebrity everyday. His face is becoming a meh sight. The fanservice, very expected. But these things that make Tegoshi ordinary, he’s great at these. He’s great at being handsome, he’s great at saying sickly-sweet remarks, great at doing his idol job, great at making himself great.
And this is because of his innate, inborn strength. Determination. Competitiveness. He’s actually grounded, you see. Grounded of these values which steer him whatever direction he chooses to go. Or goals he wants to achieve. Gosh, every Tego fan probably have said it--Tegoshi is an epitome of strength. It shows from his physique to his personality to his accomplishments to his words and into our hearts huhuhu ;_; Okay I’m crying now, gotta post this birthday post because I hafta do RL stuff again. I’ll stand up from this chair thinking how Tegoshi is beautiful and has inspired me in a lot of ways and how I want to make a lot of birthday posts but the fact that I have limited time and uuuugh okay bye! This is such a mess. Happy birthday Tegoshi, and I wish the best of the best for the best of the best. ♥
Logging out. (Pardon the grammar mistakes I’m not beta-ing this)
I was quite surprised it didn't have many mistakes and I think I've fairly made the message across. ^-^
Btw I was really crying when I typed the last sentences.
25% because of the mushy feelings It's very relieving that in spite of the midnight frustrations and afternoon palpitations I finished a thing! Tradition is hard to break; in this case, Tegoshi's birthday is the one date I've turned into a tradition. Crazy as it sounds, it is the day where I often transform into my ideal self. What have you done, Tego? Do you really have the magic?
There are many fan accounts/stories saying that their bias/es saved their lives. And some further claiming it's how a fan-idol relationships are supposed to be. Uh no.
For me, Tegoshi isn't a life-saver. I do not credit him for the air that I breathe or the force that stops me from killing myself. He's simply a person I extemely like, my good (and bad) role model, my image of perfection, and the stronghold against my imperfections.
He helps me live, that I could say. He makes me alive, to be accurate. He also makes me want to help lives. He's my metaphorical teacher and my case studies at the same time. I'm a dreamer and he's my dream. He's a doer and
I want him to do me (skip that! that's rated NC-17, keep away!!! ughh)
In short Tegoshi's this person I love so much that I can't afford to miss the tradition. I'm repeating myself too much, heh. Happy birthday, rainbow poop! ♥
Look at this wonderful piece of personality profile from Scorpio Quotes:
It's nailed to the ground, man! My groundbreaking man! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
*TEKA KINIKILIG AKO*
I shall finish this entry now. It's dinner time and I'm hungry!
No Tego at the table because it's Nov 12 you're late you're late you're late :p
P.S. I'm listening to 四銃士 on repeat and I want to get my thoughts over the song. (sign of a new review? I hope so!)
My last two posts were vague signals that I am still at home to LiveJournal and I still got time for fandom (even though the latest one has entirely no connection to me being a fangirl but to a rebel, schizotypal girl *LOL I hope no one took that srsly! :p*).
I even ENTIRELY forgot to post my #NEWS12thAnniversary tribute here. I'm such a fail >_< redirecting you to the Tumblr post instead xD
To top it all, I have tons of other reviews to finish, however I'm already not in the proper mindset to finish them. I still got fics to write, challenges to continue and packages to send >< I'm panicking inside, but my brain's distracted enough to be bothered, actually. Is it a bad thing then? That I don't want to get back to my stuff anymore?
But there's a reason to lighten up! I'm making tribute posts for Tegoshi's 28th birthday; so far, so good. I can't miss anything about this boy, really. I MEAN TEGOSHI MAKES ME VERY MOTIVATED, AND THO IT LOOKS LIKE I'VE SLACKENED I'M GOING UPHILL IN LIFE, IN FACT ♥
Before 2015 ends I'm making a pact with LJ. I'll post stuff, yeah~! I'll cover up the absence. I'll try my best to get back to even just the more significant drafts and finally post some here. I did get back on track in Tumblr; why can't I do the same with my journal?
I ain't static, I'm wired to my passions. I feel the flowing current between us, and no one's gonna make us stop. :)

チュムチュム (Chumu Chumu) PV should have been one of NEWS' most remarkable PVs--if it wasn't for KAGUYA being released first, 5 months prior, with as colorful and sexy concept as in this new PV. But チュムチュム still has its stand-out points, and that should be the case for their first-ever Indian sound and theme.
The best thing in the PV is the dancing and choreography. We've seen fierce!NEWS especially at concerts but you don't have to be at a concert this time to notice how intricate the steps are, and the equivalent artistry NEWS applies to the dance steps.
Going to the theme, I guess we all have clues on how Indian concepts work, based on Bollywood movies to documentaries about Indian culture... Even just mentioning India you'd know it's about the exaggerations and exaggerations and exaggerations in exaggerating gobs. Why? They like to be fantastic. If we'd be to point one culture that's outrageous in everything, from the number of religious deities, to the everyday fashion style, there's no doubt (and no other options): India.
And so that's how I expected the PV to look like. Outrageous. Lots of random scenes, like flying carpets (I KNOW THAT'S ARABIAN BUT HECK I SAID RANDOM); a happy crowd of back-up dancers (think of Gangnam Style--I KNOW THAT'S KOREAN BUT HECK I SAID RANDOM); NEWS making weird faces in spite of the prevailing sexy concept; displays of Indian musical instruments just to know they are doing legit India; and most importantly, outdoor scenes. Yes, I hoped for a Bollywood movie-style PV.
Instead, I got a dance video of "Let's Zumba with NEWS while learning the basics of belly dancing from the back-up dancers".
This isn't to say that I totally despise the PV. NEWS is enough. No matter how bad a material is, it would always be good enough because we look at the idols more than we care about the background. Seeing their expressions, singing and dancing on camera is sufficient. Now, チュムチュム is even more special. Look at how it differs from KAGUYA even though both are sensual PVs. The other one is dramatic sexy and this is frolic sexy. Next to Koi no ABO, Chumu Chumu is NEWS' party PV. (But ah, we're not talking about a stray disco club in Japan here. We're in "India"!)
I quoted India because, the lack of Indian flavor for my critical taste does not hide the fact that visually, the video shouts no other but India. Musically and lyrically too. The members' faces tell us that they had a good time shooting the PV. Who wouldn't, if you have a very cool choreography covering three-fourths of your video? And who wouldn't, when you are an idol group that's given a chance to interpret themes like these?
I couldn't discuss the dance 'coz I'm uncomfy in that area (frustrated dancer here! orz). All I know is, the lots of jumping coupled with catchy footwork and sultry hand movements are some of the best I've seen from NEWS--in my opinion, this is one of NEWS' best dances--in my honest opinion, this is NEWS' best dance.
And in a dance PV like this, the one who naturally stands out is Massu.
In my Chumu Chumu (song) first impression post, I complained a little about Massu. Whereas in the PV, he's the outstanding one in my eyes. I'm guessing that it is because: A) The choreo excites him B) The costumes (he made) excite him C) His eyeliner excites him D) all of the above. Look closely. Massu is really, really fierce in this PV.
For the other members, I'll put it this way... While Massu shocks me with his fierceness, Koyama gives the adorably cute factor; like, he seriously looks the youngest! Shige is the gentlemanly one, the most fitting 'character' in the PV. If Chumu Chumu was a movie he prolly was the lead actor. Lastly, Tegoshi continues the Diva saga. As if you'd be surprised. xD
Overall, the PV would still have to grow more on me. But the dance is perfect, the costumes are pleasing, and NEWS is eya' hot!
Rating: ★★ for the PV
Title: MR. WHITE
From: WHITE album LE DVD
Release Date: February 25, 2015
Honestly, MR. WHITE is the first film/short film by a Johnny's group that I've watched so I have no point of comparison. But I can say that the short film could have more potential if the financial effort is done. The story is good (looking past the cliche part--there's a section for that later), the costumes are good, considering the story is cyber-themed and it involves kids; and NEWS' acting skills are quite polished already. The only major setback is the production, I think they got too cheap on that... Whereas a more costly production could make the film very satisfactory.
Why is this important? The majority of the filmviewers are NEWS fans, of course, and we can't really complain about this film because it's the first time the four of them did a thing like this, together. But the group has a lot more to showcase as actors, and the individual contributions (such as Shige's story-writing and Massu's costume-making) could've been maximized. There's much passion and hardwork in NEWS' part. Yet they get less than they deserve. The slacking is not to be blamed on them, really.
In one word, MR. WHITE is: Exciting. The transformation is not so apparent--even in that Ghostbusters-like suit and apparatus they're pretty much like themselves, only geared towards an entirely different mission. And that's what makes it exciting, the rescue mission that need no exaggerations (um, flying capes and extraordinary strength) which would make it absurd, in my opinion, if they used that instead.
The storyline is common. Shige might have had other ideas (vampires and such? LOL) but this was easy and probably less complicated to do. Actually, I like it, because of the Internet theme + children. It's a very good contrast to the recently released KAGUYA in which NEWS showed their sexiness and maturity against an age-old backdrop (a folklore). This time, it's very modern to somehow futuristic, and refreshing because of the costumes and the action scenes that show a new character to the group.
Still on the storyline, if it is typical, the overall plot is not. I very much appreciate the concept used--children are downloaded into the internet, for the purpose of extracting their imagination, using it as energy and foundation for building evil on the Internet. A mind-opening theme that stresses the importance of young people, and the capabilities of the modern technology. The existence of MR. WHITE and Team White, in my interpretation, are not to totally oppose this kind of technology but to take away its negative effects.
At first I have doubts on the costumes. When I watched the whole thing it eventually made sense; it fits the story and the song MR. WHITE itself. Still, I can't help but think of Ghostbusters... But aren't theyWeblack busters too? ★
Scene by scene review
( Onto the action... )
MR. WHITE runs for approximately 20 minutes 30 seconds. Achieving this, it must've been hard to cram the scenes, and adding more goes beyond the question. It has an easy to understand plot, easy on the eyes cinematography, unforgettable costumes and a catchy theme song. To be frank, I see MR. WHITE as an unpolished experiment rather than a masterpiece. Though there's always room for improvement so I hope that NEWS will be given more projects like this because they can definitely do it.
The film's title is MR. WHITE, yet TEAM WHITE is better, don't you think? They went with the title of the theme song, that's forgivable. But Team White practically did the work to save the children. Like NEWS working hard for the love of us. We love you back, our superheroes. ♥
But I won something in regards to his birthday! In sg_paanas Koyama-themed giveaway, I unexpectedly scored the prize. Unexpected because I was doubting then if I should join the giveaway knowing the contest is Koyama-centered; I thought I might affect Koyapaanas IN CASE i win. But nothing hurts in trying. And nothing hurts in winning! Haha, you should know. You're a Tegoshi fan :p Unexpectedly, again, it wasn't really Tegoshi who inspired my entry in the contest. It was definitely the birthday boy himself, Koyama Keiichiro.
Koyama must have a happy, eventful life, especially nowadays. His anticipated concert-on-his-birthdate finally came true. He won the hearts of fans all over again in his recent 10,000-character interview. NEWS is on the roll this 2015, and his baby niece is indeed a great blessing. I'm so happy for riida who said "I'm enveloped in a feeling of happiness so amazing I couldn't even describe..." And just like this post, which, in the next paragraphs will be about the joys of my fandom and RL state, might be overwhelming to read, hence I'm prepping to make it coherent. Good luck 'bout that. LOL xD

I'll end this post with my latest cover photo in FB. An edited
Tsuki no Tomodachi, be my friend too~ ◇*(◆∨◆)*◇

At first I tried to make a birthday message. If you ever guessed, I've never made any bday tribute to these girls. I thought of a pimp post but that's something to leave to hardcore Kamilias--I admit I am far (still far) to be one. I also composed a dramatic essay but it doesn't fit with my celebratory mood. (Yes. Celebratory in all its glory!!) You know, one thing that makes me fall in love with KARA over and over again is their songs that seem to not run out of energy.° The signature KARA sound that, despite my hate in the beginning (refer to this post), brought the highest levels of hyperness in me and gave me regular urgencies to dance.° I got my hand movements wrong in Lupin and had the time of my life doing the wrong steps to Step, but at least I've done these... and more! Super thanks to you, gals :">
It is not unknown to everyone that I'm a fan of KARA's Japanese discography. In fact, I listen to it more than I listen to their Korean songs. I'm so thankful for the huge JPop influence in the group, for if they aren't JPop-like sound-wise I might never appreciated them this far.° If they didn't venture into Japanese market I might've not known them anyway. I may be greedy and senseless for thinking this but KARA is a JPop group to me. But no hate, please. ^^ I'm aware that their origins are Korean and never will they be in line with JPop groups. Yet this is another reason to love them: The KPop label and the JPop heart.° It's like seeing two groups, listening to two cultures, and understanding two languages in one. Isn't that awesome?
KARA is called the 'Miracle group'° for a variety of reasons I will not discuss here (I recommend watching these documentaries to satisfy your curiosity xD). The members have been through a lot, and it made them stronger, braver, wiser. It might not be too obvious but they are some of the richest in the KPop idoldom, too! However, it's definitely not cliche to say that their humility is outstanding and one-of-a-kind°. A big part of this is attributed to them being the 'miracle group'.
Like my ultimate bias group, NEWS, KARA has an interesting member line-up changes from the year they were formed to the present.° Originally four, a member left and was replaced by two, making them five for a long time. Then two members left and were replaced by one, making them four again. There's no need to hide your laughing because it's actually hilarious. More importantly, come to think of it, they survived through it all!°
° = the reasons why I love KARA [the supposed-to-be title of this post~]
Since I don't have much to babble about, I'd end this post with a list of song recommendations (mostly Japanese tracks, and you know why!)
Probably you've heard of the song MR. more than you've heard about the group who sang it. (It was such a trend!) But there's more to KARA than their butt dance; here are the songs that caught my attention, became my jam, and many of these belong to my ultra-favorites until now. There are also some ballads just in case you're wondering if they ever sing slow songs.
KARA's vocals were once dubbed as the worst in KPop. I won't disagree. However, I'm still proud of the group's unique vocal substance that gives their songs their own catchy brand.
Here is my recommendation list, not in order (although it tends to). Hope you find the time listening to some!
5-member KARA (2008-2013)
Original 4-member KARA (2007)
New 4-member KARA (2014 - )
Whew, I missed making KARA posts! I'm glad I finally got to it again! Along with this is a promise that I'd be a better fan. The type which, can write andwill write a pimp post or even just an appreciation post. Because you are worth the appreciation. <3
Again, happy 8th anniversary. You are a miracle, and meeting you is magic.
Anyway this is not what the post is about. Not about WHITE album either. I'm just passing by to say that my phone got stolen last Tuesday, because it's more fun in the Philippines. LOL. And you know that Manila is ridiculously unsafe po, popopo!
^ I did two puns in one sentence! Wow, does 2015 brings me a higher level of corniness? :p
To those in the f-list who have my number, please delete it. Thank you.
Along with this announcement is a rant. Please let me rant, I haven't did this for ages! (Rather, I haven't posted a rant here for ages)
MY FANFICTION / STORIES. IMPORTANT AND SENTIMENTAL TEXTS AND MEMOS. DIARY ENTRIES. PICTURES. SONGS. VIDEOS. ALL OF THEM GONE.
My phone is probably my number one fan. It knows my secrets, my hidden thoughts, deepest wishes, wildest dreams. It doesn't judge when I type a joke or if my story is a flop. That's why I named it てずてってとって in the first place.
BUT NOW IT'S GONE. てずてってとって IS JUST A SIMPLE, OUTDATED PHONE (WHO USES NOKIA 5530 NOWADAYS?), AND YET I TRUST IT LIKE A BIBLE. I HOLD IT MORE THAN I COULD HOLD ANY OTHER THING. I LOOK AT IT MORE THAN I STARE AT TEGOSHI (WELL, MOST TEGOSHIZZ ARE SEEN ON てずてってとって'S SCREEN, SO BOTH OF YOU GET A LOT OF STARING, OKAY? DO NOT FIGHT I LOVE YOU BOTH ASDFGHJKL). MOST IMPORTANTLY, THIS PHONE HAS BEEN AN IMPORTANT PART OF MY SELF-SEARCHING JOURNEY. IT KNOWS THAT I'M AN INTROVERTED GIRL WHO, FOR SOME REASON, COULD SHOUT WORDS INTO THE COMPUTER KEYS THAT'S WHY I APPEAR EXTROVERTED ON THE NET. #NowYouKnow #INFP
I guess... It's time to move forward. #2015Motto
By the way, there's a song in WHITE album sung by this happy toad which sad lyrics fit my rantable rant. (Happy toad makes me sad Ihateyou >.<)
Dear てずてってとって, if you were still here you'd probably played this song for me a hundred times. I'd go to your Music Player first, plug earphones into you (LOL that sounds a bit... bwahahaha) and have our special time hiding from the world.
Anguished and missing you badly, Leya.
EDIT: AFTER REREADING THIS POST I LOOK AND SOUND LOVESICK. KAYA MO YAN TEH! CELLPHONE LANG YAN HOY! HEHEHEHEHE
PERO HINDI KO ALAM KUNG EFFECT BA TALAGA TO NG PAGKAWALA NI PHONE O YUNG BITTER NA KANTA NI HAPPY TOAD. OR BOTH. xD SIGURO NGA.

This deserves to be called a comeback single.
JPop and KPop groups have different connotations of/for the term comeback. 'Comeback' in JPop means coming back from a significant hiatus, usually accompanied by problems in the group or of an individual member, and so it is considered a big word. 'Comeback' in KPop is less severe; K-ent companies have their groups releasing material commonly after a year or less of receded activities. In short, it happens regularly in KPop. Nonetheless, comebacks are important and are always much-awaited on both of these pop music cultures.
When I said KAGUYA deserves to be called a comeback single, I am pointing to the Korean connotation. Just like KPop groups' comebacks, KAGUYA radiates this vibe of "I'm back after some rest, get your grooves again!" This is true since NEWS wasn't active doing group work last year.
Song by song comments:
KAGUYA is snappy. See, not that type of love song. Sound-wise, it is along the lines of Chankapaana, Quntastic!, and Koi no ABO. But unlike these three which have a disco/70's flair, KAGUYA is a modern oriental party pop; the 'oriental' being its base. Go figure. It is obvious from the traditional instruments used.
What I hate about KAGUYA: nothing. What I love about KAGUYA: everything! Even though it is far from the slow and soothing love song I hoped NEWS' next anthem to be, KAGUYA got into my faves list like a rocket for its intensity. No belting--remember? But it has all the elements for me to say that it is--sound-wise again--better than Chankapaana. I've also read comments from other people saying this is the best NEWS carrier single after Taiyou no Namida, and has a beauty comparable to the song Forever.
Wraaping it up:
KAGUYA challenged variety in a way I don't like much, to be honest. Nevertheless, many good points emerged from the experimentation done in this single. It's a release which will make you proud of NEWS more than ever. Not to mention, it's a good prelude to the new album coming in February!
Single rating: 3.5 out of 5! (I couldn’t use eighth notes because of the .5 huhuhu)
Just a fair warning: most of my 2014 happiness came from ze personal life so this might be more of a real-life post than a fandom one.
You can skip the first part and read the second cut (fandom-centered) instead :)
2014 was the year I discovered my true self, my insecurities, and my capabilities. Studying astrology since 2013, I somehow stopped in the first few months of 2014 and eventually I was back on track again. I realized my life as controlled by the 'stars', so I started to try navigating it, with the help of newfound philosophies and some old, tried, and tested beliefs. Where did I get those things?
The power of inspiration. 4 years in the fandom, I really waited for this year to come. Four is a beloved number--you know why--and passing this mark made me feel secure in my place in the fandom world. T'was the year where I felt the most comfortable in making the fandom a part of my lifestyle, morphing into a 'senpai' fan. I don't consider myself a newbie anymore ('coz I still did, in 2013).
If you could call this something as great as divine providence. Or caused by the philosophical depth I've gained. I’ve never stuck to something for more than four years, so having gone through the fourth year in the fandom I knew it was my first ultimate step to--well, forever. I hope so.

Now that I've mentioned my bias it's time for the second half of the post which talks of fandom happenings, even though NEWS itself lacked news in 2014. These are arranged randomly, and some parts would still relate greatly to my personal interests and/or stories. I might be missing out on some things; feel free to comment.

There are tons of things worth including in this yearender post. The simple details, such as seeing a shooting star twice; the meet-ups with Ria whom I feel very comfortable talking to about any topic (from Tegoshi to Politics to the problems in my family); the times of restlessness caused by a fanfic; the first time I posted a multi-chap. Our calamansi tree finally bore fruit! Our cactus died! I learned how to cook purple yam! And I injured my foot while playing "futsal"--using a snail shell as the ball.
I hope I conveyed it well: why I love 2014. My aim is to make 2015 even better, because having equipped with the experience and wisdom I've gained I think I can now focus on moving forward~ ♥

( ^ sorry for the all caps wahahahaha. Did you know that I have fever while typing this? But let's get this posted, for the love of Tego!)
Squeal-inducing fanservice, calling us his girlfriends, doing his best in everything, and calling himself a perfect idol, plus the fact that he's extremely good looking and a pro at singing, are the reasons why we just can't get enough of Tegoshi. But life with him as our bias isn't only about boldness when he blasts on the stage or pride when he accomplishes a project in ItteQ. It's nerve-wrecking too, worrisome, and definitely hard at times. Common reasons?
( THIS IS THE CUT. SOMEBODY MUST CLICK ON THIS CUT. I'M HOPING FOR TEGOSHI TO DO IT, PERHAPS, BECAUSE I BELIEVE HE STALKS OUR TUMBLR BLOGS AND MAYBE HE ALSO STALKS LIVEJOURNAL? WAHAHAHAHAHAHA IT'S NEVER BAD TO HOPE YOU KNOW. AND AS YOU SEE, THIS IS THE HAVEN OF JE FANS. SO TEGOSHI PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE. P.S. WHERE DID MY SANITY GO? I CAN'T FIND IT NOW OMGOMGOMGASDFGHJKL. BUT REALLY. WHY AM I SO HYPER, LIKE I'VE NEVER CELEBRATED THIS LITTLE SHIT'S BIRTHDAY BEFORE. IM SO DONE WITH THIS LIFE. KBYE~~~ )
NEWS' 9th anniversary was grand, because it was its first anniversary as a four-member group. NEWS' 10th anniversary was majestic, because the group was obviously in its 10th year. I started making this post, thinking, "What will everyone do for NEWS' 11th year? What will members do on their anniversary? Is there a way to make this September 15 just as memorable as the past NEWS anniversaries? Of course I couldn't contribute much to the fandom and I have always been like that (Sorry I was an inattentive fan back then!)... But I thought I had to keep doing my 'tradition' whenever the fated day of the year comes, and that is to have my own little gift: A blog post dedicated to NEWS.
But wait, there's a twist to this. Unlike my previous anniversary posts, this tribute comprises other fans' thoughts, feelings, and a little bit of their fandom history.. In other words, I did an interview to Chankapaana around the world! (you could imagine me flying to all the countries mentioned in ONE -for the win- *kidding*) Thanks to social networking sites and blogs, I somehow made this a success LOL. The interview consists of three (3) basic questions about the "Life of NEWS Fans"--or simply, what made these people like NEWS, love NEWS, and stay with NEWS. Think of it as the interviews you read in Myojo, Popolo, etc... But instead of NEWS you'll read the fans' words! Yes, this is our Ai Kotoba. #てずてってとってNEWS ♫

Please take note that most of the fans interviewed here (including me) obviously aren't native English speakers so there are grammar lapses. I didn't want to change their original messages so I left them as they were, the way they were typed--even the capitalization and punctuation (except for some words/phrases that definitely needs correction).
Tata Massu, roleplayer
I only knew Yamapi first from his drama Nobuta wo Produce. One day, I was watching Music Station on Animax then suddenly I heard this uberly cute song from an adorably boy group. All I can see is the title of the song which is weeeek but I still didn't know who's the band. Ever since then, it was always on my mind and I was desperately looking for it. On my birthday, my sisters downloaded the song as a gift for me and that's when I found out that the band's name is NEWS.
I became a fan of News after I met tegomass by anime lovely complex, was this year ♥
Originally a KAT-TUN, but the interaction between members of KAT-TUN x 4nin NEWS had shone through me to become a fan of NEWS.
I watched Hana Yori Dango and I knew Matsu Jun, then I knew Arashi, Arashi drove me to JE, And finally I fell in love with NEWS.
INFLUENCED by FRIEND whom I met when I bought a NEWS ALBUM
I became a news fan in late 2010 when i stumbled by an anime called Lovely Complex. The first thing that caught my attention was the opening and ending. i absolutely loved both which brought me into searching up who these lovely singers were. I have then found Tegomasu~ I never look up artists when i like a song so looking them up feels like destiny to me. Ever since my discovery with this amazing duo.... ohmygawd i could not stop. i looked them up 25/8 and i was practically addicted. Around that same time, i found out that this duo was actually a sub group from a bigger group that are actually 6 lovely members in a band called NEWS that soon controlled my life till this day.
Demi Tokyo Inooshi, U.S.A
Saw a video on the internet
Honestly i started liking JE when i watched Kindaichi, but that time acting by tsuyoshi.. then from that i know existence of JE maybe around 2001.. then i follow johnnys jr including kattun.. then once NEWS debut I started to become their fan coz i love K.K.kity.
Mary Grace, Philippines
Actually I became their fan way back 2008 when I first watched their weeeek PV, I really love the PV and the song so much that I always listened to it, But I get too busy in my college life that when I came back to the fandom they were already four left. At first is so shocking for me that happened but I get over it when I watched their UtsuCon and I must say I really ♥ 4-nin NEWS more.
Well, first I didn’t like them. I was a fan of KAT-TUN. Then I saw Tegoshi’s Ai nante performance and I fell in love deeply and for a long time.
My friend gave me "Ichi ritoru no namida" and after a little of tears -literally!- I made a research on the protagonist Mr. Ryo Nishikido, and Mr. Google-sama took me the 1st video I saw of NEWS in my life: a live perf. Koi no ABO!! and then Eito's OOSAKA obachan ROCK! and my face was like > D:"Are you serious? is that the same guy from the drama?" well it was the same guy LOL and then all my crazy devotion to these insane boys started...2009
Ghea: What i like about news... i like all things about them. they're just perfect~ ♥
Tata Massu: I think I love the pureness of NEWS. I like their style and their songs. They're far too normal for being a JE Idol but I think that's what makes them unique. They're relate-able and simple.
Samara: I like them because they are lovable, funny and incredible. ♥ :)
Katherine: Happiness and laughter that each member has given to all Chankapanas
Hana: I love everything about NEWS, their voices, their songs, their boys, everything! :3
Hayame: THE UNIQUENESS of the TUNE of their songs and also their individual personality
Sondos: The things I like about NEWS is obviously, everything. From as small as making stupid puns, changing hairstyles, magazine photoshoot etc. to as big as their will to stay strong after so much, their faith in the fandom, their hard work, the love they teach us, the love they spread to us, the inspiration they gave to us, and the list goes on. I love everything. and everything is news. Everything is what makes up news.
Demi Tokyo Inooshi: The music, fun personalites, Tegoshi :D
Bena: Their love towards their fans as same as we love them. another are their members ai!! i love all their characters~
Mary Grace: I super like NEWS that so many things pop out in my mind, but among all, I like NEWS because of Koyama Keiichiro, Masuda Takahisa, Kato Shigeaki and Yuya Tegoshi, because of them we all have a group that we love and that is NEWS.
Amy: What I like about NEWS? I’ve already wrote all this stuff in my previous (Tumblr) posts. You can check them out on my blog under the tag “My thoughts” and “My ramblings”. But to sum it up I can say, they are positive and hyper and all over the place when they perform and they are in sync whic is important, since KAT-TUN are bad at dancing. lol
Issa: Thing Iike the most: courage and dedication (aren't they the most brave members of that Evil Agency?? of course they are! can overcome anything!!!)
Ghea: I hope NEWS will release a single and album as fast as possible and make a concert again. i hope they make a concert in indonesia. and i want them to have variety show, it'll be cool. T.T i love NEWS so much. ♥
Tata Massu: NEWS Ganbare! I'll support you until the end!
Samara: NEWS dear, I'm very happy to have known you, you are within my heart.I'm going love them forever and I will be always a Chankapana faithful ♥ I love NEWS now and forever !! ♥ ^_^
Katherine: The hardships, the tears, and the happiness that NEWS went through had motivated me to stride forward, and for that, thank you, NEWS~
Hana: Please, don't stop fighting ever, fans always are waiting for you. Thanks for making my world happier. ♥ I love you so much.
Hayame: NEWS! YAY!!! ARIGATOU NYUSU MEMBA!!! ALL OF YOU GIVE US A DREAM AND GOAL IN LIFE... PLEASE CONTINUE TO BE ONE!!!
Sondos: The first thing I want to say to NEWS is, thank you. thank you for these 5 years we shared together. thank you for the memories, the love, the strengths, the weaknesses, the tears, the laughs, thank you. thank you for believing in this beautiful fandom that i consider my second home. thank you for believing in yourself when people told you it wasn't possible to continue. thank you for cherishing and protecting this impossible dream we have embraced and loved as a whole. thank you for being there when i had no one to turn back to. thank you for grasping to that small hope after losing so much. thank you for the beautiful moments i have shared with you through out this journey. thank you for being thankful. thank you for being my inspiration, my role models, my family. sometimes the word "thanks" can't express a huge emotion of what someone wants to show gratitude for. all the "i love you"s and "thank you"s in the world combined cannot express these emotions i have towards you. thank you, thank you for everything. these past 11 years have been a bumpy road but you showed how to over come any obstacle in your way. NEWS, I love you from the bottom of my heart, right here, right now and tezutettetote (take out the te) HAPPY 11TH ANNIVERSAY. FOR EVERY PROUD MOMENT AND FOR EVERY LOVELY MOMENT, THANK YOU. and last but not least, thank you for showing me that a four-leafed clover truly is lucky ♥
Demi Tokyo Inooshi: I MISS YOU SOOO MUCH!! Please keep fighting and I hope you have lots of new activities and happiness ♥
Bena: Whatever happens, i will never change my love towards NEWS. this is my promise!
Mary Grace: First of all domo Grace desu! ^_^ Otanjoubi Omedetou NEWS-kun I hope to see more of NEWS but it is also ok to wait as long as NEWS is there. I want to thank NEWS to all the love they have to the fan, because they always thinking about us. Hope they enjoy their 11th birthday on September 15, NEWS Ganbatte ne ^_^
Amy: “Can I become your friend, please, please, please? I can play soccer, I like to eat and I can dance Chankapana, which is very awkward and emberessing when a 27 yo girl starts dancing in the middle of the street out of nowhere. But that’s how I greet my friends, and besides being dorky, it is very cute." And thanx to NEWS songs I learnt many Japanese words, which is very helpful now when I take Japanese classes.
Issa: THANK YOU & I LOVE YOU (with ALL the meaning these expressions may include)
As mentioned earlier, before starting this tribute I was wondering how fans will celebrate NEWS11th, when NEWS doesn't have any activities at the moment. Then one by one fan groups from different countries announced their projects! (Have you joined any of those? Join and spread the love!) Some are still ongoing I think. Let's do it for the fandom's sake ♥
By the way, one of the people interviewed asked me to answer my own questions and include them in this post! WARNING: I ALWAAAAYS GIVE LONG, DETAILED ANSWERS. But here I'll try to shorten as much as I can. ^_^
- I first heard about the group NEWS in 2009 when one of my classmates had a crush on Massu and my best friends were teasing her about it... I joined in the teasing despite not knowing who that Massu was (LOL). One day I went to my bff's dorm to borrow her laptop but at that time they were using it for something else--watching a NEWS concert. They told me to stay so that I could finally know who's the Massu, so I stayed. I saw Tegoshi instead and I fell for him at first sight! ^o^ But I didn't bother to research about him nor NEWS. After some time I remebered nothing except the name of the member I liked: Yuya. xD Maybe I wasn't supposed to become a fan that year? But the year later, 2010, my roommate who was a newbie fangirl (Massu-biased too) introduced me to Tegomasu and I immediately loved their musicality. I recognized Massu but not Tegoshi. We began researching, and little by little I discovered that Tegomass is a subgroup of NEWS. And the Tegoshi in Tegomasu is actually the Yuya in NEWS. I believe in fate, so, here I am now. HAHAHAHAHA ♥
- It's a hard question now that I'm answering it myself! What I like about NEWS: diversity of the members. Koyama is totally different from Tegoshi, Tegoshi from Shige, Shige from Massu and Massu from Koyama but when they are together it's the perfect chemistry. I know I'm just being biased because Arashi's bond is HANDS DOWN but I like NEWS' aura overall... In performances, backstage, Soukon, etc. I also like their history; it's colorful, it's beautiful, it's something realistic. NEWS had taught me lots of things too. They're inspiring~
- NEWS, I wish I had known you earlier because I want to show you how loyal I am to you. But anyway... You were just an interesting group to me before, you are an amazing family to me now, and you will be an irreplaceable existence to me forever. Right now you're on your 11th year, I hope you'll be going on till eternity and I will be with you! ♫
Done! If you are reading this, thank you too! Assuming you're a NEWS fan, you can also answer the interview if you like. Comment away! HAPPY ANNIVERSARY, NEWS AND CHANKAPAANA!
(crossposted on my blogspot and tumblr. Check them out too, especially the tumblr post, because it's slightly different)
Last month, August, was a very busy and active time for me and fangirling but I didn't post here even once??! I'm sorry. I'll try to summarize the memorable moments and news! And it's not just about NEWS!!! Here we goooo~ popopo xD
- JULY probably was the happiest month for Filipino Tegoshi/NEWS fans because he came to the Philippines (It was May-June actually; the ItteQ episode aired on July)... But AUGUST was the happiest month for Filipino J-lovers... Who doesn't know the #KenshinManila event? Due to certain circumstances I wasn't able to attend, though most of my friends were. *le cries* There are lots of news and articles regarding the two-day stay, I can't give my personal thoughts so here's one from the media: (Munetaka Aoki is so astig!!!)
- SEVEN COLORS has a PV. If I'm not mistaken, it was only limited to the FC members; lottery and all that stuff. But everyone in the fandom is just so downright generous (always been and we know that for sure), and... Ta-da! One of their happiest PVS. Please look at Tegoshi's smiles to get what I mean. *I'm getting biased again... hihihi*
- Kis-My-Ft2's double A-side Perfect World and Another Future. And here I am catching up with the Kisumai pace! (They've just released their third album a month ago, touring at the same time, released a single after a short while, then Busaiku strikes with another single again. Now I'm starting Nobunaga no Chef season 2. Oh Kisumai. I love you so much but it's honestly hard handling three active fandoms ok? THREE, YES, THREE. NEWS IS ACTIVE IN MY EYES EVEN THOUGH TEGOSHI'S ALREADY RANTING ABOUT UNFEASIBLE THINGS. AND THE BRAND NEW KARA... HAS COME BACK. Now you know why I didn't post anything this August. Because I'm busy with my fandoms all releasing at the same time which happened for the first time. Isn't that sweet? I can now say that I'm a multi-fandom-ed fangirl! I now know what it feels like! ♥)
- KARA COMEBACK KARA COMEBACK KARA COMEBACK! PARTY PARTY PARTY MAMMAMIA! ↓↓↓↓
- Finally saw in flesh one of my closest friends in the internet, Dhes. It was my most hyper meet-up to date. All my timidness flew away. Right now I wanna see her again :) Btw I'd like to include a pic! ↓
P.S. What would you do on/for NEWS' 11th anniversary? If you got any plans let's talk about it xD
Title: ONE -for the win-
Release date: June 11, 2014
►L-R: the Limited Edition A and B jacket covers◄
This single... Is one of NEWS' most powerful releases, because--and not just because--three of its songs were used in the World Cup. Musically speaking, here are the reasons why.

Song by song comments:
01 ONE -for the win- fits World cup in Brazil like a glove. The tropic sound and rhythm; percussion rolls, the chorus of ethnic voices to the inset sound of people cheering in the intro, the build-up in the refrains, and the "Viva la vida Brazil" at the start of the choruses... It's truly a high-spirited song with the spirit of the recent World Cup. The highlights in this song a.k.a. the-most-wonderful-thing-I've-heard-

Wrapping it up:
The past two singles, Chankapaana and WORLD QUEST/Pokoponpekorya showed what NEWS with 4 members can do. ONE -for the win- isn't about that anymore. It's now what they can challenge to become a more efficient and appealing singing group. They aimed for power and they earned it with power.
I have come to a conclusion that NEWS members have always been, and will always be, cohesive in terms of musicality, no matter how different their voices and styles were/are with one another, 9 or 8 or 6 or 4. This release is the newest (and arguably the strongest) proof. Turns out, ONE -for the win- is more than a product of the World Cup hype... It's NEWS setting the bar up, higher than what they've reached in the past ten years.
- July 1 - aramatheydidnt has moved out of LJ! Good news because arama renewed itself through the launch of its "improved" version, aramajapan (we'll see in a matter of time if it really does improve). Sad news for the people who stayed in LJ because of arama--like me, who feeds in arama next to news_jpop. This one big move by arama made me realize again that the LiveJournal spirit has been long gone. T^T What will happen next?
- July 2 - Kis-My-Journey release. Found the time to listen to it after more than friggin' 15 days. Hey, 2 weeks is long, considering I already dl-ed it the day after the release date. Matagal na sakin yung songs, wala lang talaga akong time makinig O_O
- 1 month and 10 (?) days since ONE -for the win- release and I still haven't posted my album review. This is enough reason for a rant!
- 3 weeks since ItteQ's Entertainer Tegoshi episode in the Philippines and I still haven't downloaded the HQ vid. All I have is the LQ copy. I can't with thiiiiiis~
P.S. mocoharuma active ka na raw ngayon sa twi tita? Follow mo ako kahit di ako active dun! Haha. @leyategoshii
Had I known this ahead of time, I would've kidnapped him. Of course I'm kidding. (Oops. Aren't jokes half-meant? xD)
(Above photo: Tegoshi, "PO", and the scenic Manila Bay)
A year ago, me and another Tego-biased friend, Ria, were rambling and ranting wildly about Tegoshi and how he already circled the countries around ours except for ours. We were frustrated, thinking that he should come here because we have a list (a funny list of reasons, from the things he could do to the tourist spots to the band of waiting, emotion-driven Tego-paanas like us!). I also thought that if he couldn't come here any sooner, then he wouldn't come here ever. I may sound like a pessimist but I was just realistic. Hello, Philippines is just one time zone away from Japan! Why can't he notice??? *this is shallow, I know it's entirely not his fault.* Despite the ranting I was just as hopeful as any international fan.
In the months that follow I loaded my imagination with Tego visiting Philippines, maybe for ItteQ or for a short vacation or maybe not just him--but all of NEWS--holding a little concert slash fan event. The first option, ItteQ, was the most reasonable. Though ItteQ went to Baguio (a Philippine city) years ago without him there's still a big possibility of filming an Entertainer Tegoshi segment here!! In fact, among all Johnny's talents, it is Tego who has the biggest chance of going to our country which is apparently "unknown" to Johnny's... Thank God for ItteQ. The pessimist/realist-turned-optimist/still realist me started to look forward, creating the line I never thought I'd diligently say to my self everyday: Pupunta sya rito. Kahit di ko na sya makita, ang importante pupunta sya rito. (He will come here. Even if I don't see him personally, what's important is he will come here.)
Indeed, he came. And indeed, I didn't see him personally.
It was harder than I thought. Filipino fans share the same sentiment--he came and he left, without the most of us knowing. I only got teary-eyed when the preview came out; the others cried hard! Nevertheless we were anxious to watch the full episode which was aired a week after.
He learned the Philippine Bamboo dance, the Tinikling. Ria and I guessed right--we thought Tinikling would be the first, if not the perfect thing he could learn here if ever. Days before the airing, our anticipation grew so as our questions. When did he come? Where did he stay? Did anyone see him? And the desperate question: WILL HE COME BACK?
The Filipinos are naturally close-knitted. This could be seen in social networking sites (a country so small as Philippines belongs to the top 10 or top 15 countries with most users); naturally, the Filipino fans are close-knitted too. Within a day or two, everyone in the fandom, and even the people from other fandoms, were informed of the news. A day or two before the airing, more proof came such as the fan who works at the hotel where he stayed, and the tear-jerking accounts of the dancers he worked with. One said, "He's such a lovable person! Very humble."
Oh Tego, How I strongly hope to see you someday. ;_;
Despite the celebration, there's still the bashing. The skeptics who wouldn't believe (they were, before the full ep. was aired), the cynics who said Tego might have been circling the country but the fans were scarce so one spotted him, and the haters who said Tegoshi doesn't deserve the attention. A friend told me all about this, frustrated, yet we ended up laughing. "Whatever they say! We're the lucky ones!"
Lucky is an understatement. I feel so blessed. I'm sure every Filipino fan feels the same.
Even though it was only a 20-30 minute segment and we actually expected a lot more (e.g. going to Boracay--our world-famous white sand beach!), Tegoshi doing poses at the Manila Bay, learning a Filipino dance from Filipino dancers and saying "Sankyuu PO!" (Po is a Filipino word used for respect *its equivalent in Japanese is ございます*), are definitely reasons to be proud of being a Filipino koneko-chan.
